Endangered Language Revitalization through Digital Immersion Programs: Lessons from Welsh
Abstract
An evaluation of Welsh-medium digital immersion programs targeting adult heritage speakers (N=1,200) over three years. Participants showed statistically significant gains in oral fluency (d=0.81) and written proficiency (d=0.67). Motivation and digital usage frequency are the strongest predictors. The model is adaptable to other European minority languages facing similar demographic pressures.
